Given the heavy rain in Jammu and Kashmir, which launched lightning floods in several areas, on Sunday said that all government and private schools in Jammu would remain closed on Monday, August 18.
The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) predicted heavy rain in UT UT – 18 and 19 August.
“Given the unfavorable and poor weather conditions, it is here that the whole government and private schools Jammu will remain closed for tomorrow 18th August,” said the headmaster of school education, Jammú.
Jammu, however, is not the only city with 18 August school holiday.

Chandigar
All educational institutions in Chandigarh will remain closed on Monday 18th August. Governor Gulab Chand Kataria announced this holiday on August 15 during the 79th of Independence Day.
The administration said that a school holiday is for the comfort of students and schools without providing a specific reason.
Academic and administrative activities will continue normal operation on Tuesday, August 19.

UJJAIN, MADHYA PRADESH
Ujjain Madhya Pradesh also announced school holidays on 18 August. The holidays were announced with regard to the royal parade Baba Mahakal Ji.
In the districts of Karnataka
Schools will remain closed in several areas of Karnataka due to the red awarding of IMD for heavy rain in Chikkamagalur and Shivamogg districts.
Deputy Commissioner Chikkamagalur Meena Nagaraj on Sunday announced a holiday for Anganwadis, elementary schools and secondary schools in Six Taluks on Monday, with regard to heavy rain.
The holidays apply to schools in Koppa, Kalase, Mudigere, Sringeri and NR Pura Taluks and schools located in Avathi, Jagara, Human, Alduru and Khandy Hoblasts of Chikkamagalur Taluk.
The deputy commissioner of Shivamogg Gurudatt Hegade also announced a holiday for all schools and universities in the district on Monday.
Deputy Commissioner Hassan KS Lathakumari announced a holiday for Anganwadis and primary and secondary schools in Sakaleshpur and Belur Taluks and those in K. Hoskote Hobli of Alur Taluk.

Thrissur, Kerala
The collector of the district district of Thrissur announced a holiday for all educational institutions, including professional universities, 18th August, as the rain persists.
The order issued as a preventive measure applies to all institutions, including CBSE, ICSE, Kendriya Vidyalayas, Anganwadis, Madrasas and Tuition.
The holidays apply to school level exams. The onam test date, which will take place tomorrow, will be announced later.
Manipur
On August 19, Maharaj Veer Vikram Kishhore Manica Bahadur will remain closed in the manipure in the manipure.
Banks and other government institutions will also remain closed throughout the state.
