The Kerala government has issued a circular that the Christmas vacation for government and aided schools in the state will begin on December 24. Schools will reopen after the holidays on January 5. Mid-term exams will end on December 23. Exams were scheduled to take place from December 11 to 18, with the Christmas break scheduled to begin the following day, according to the 2025-26 academic calendar. Schools were scheduled to reopen on December 29. However, the exams and holiday dates were postponed after the State Election Commission decided to hold polling for local body elections on December 9 and 11.
