The Department of Mathematics of the Indian Institute of Technology-Madras (IIT-M) was recognized as its work by Casualty-Maytuarial Society (CAS). As part of the CAS University recognition program, she gained silver recognition.
The Ministry offers higher education, master and doctoral programs in mathematics, statistics and financial modeling and prepares students for career in risk management and injuries.
Neelesh S. Upiphy, a professor in the department, said that the recognition was celebrated by robust stochastic processes, regression, financial mathematics and data analysis, which were the core of modern mathematical science.
Upalye said, “We are looking forward to deepening our cooperation through workshops for the development of the faculty, student summer programs and joint research initiatives.”
