Representative of the main Minister Udhayanidhi Stalin congratulated Stalin on Wednesday to Tamil Nadu candidates who cleaned the state -service examination by the UNIP (UPSC) public service and stated the steps in this respect through the “Naan Mudhalvan” system.
In an interview in the Assembly, Mr Udhayanidhi said that the number of students who had cleaned the UPSC civil service test from Tamil Nadu has increased since 2021 due to the consistent efforts of the DMK government in the last four years.
He said that by 2016, on average, 100 candidates from Tamil Nadu cleaned the civil service exam annually. After 2016, however, this issue gradually decreased and in 2021 it decreased to 27. To change this situation, the government introduced the system “Naan Mudhalvan” according to the department for implementation of a special program and took training in civil service exams, he said.
Within this system, the state government provided financial assistance in the selection of applicants for preliminary and preparation for networks. As a result, in 2024, a total of 47 students from Tamil Nadu cleaned the examination – by 30% compared to the previous year. In 2025, a total of 57 candidates approved the investigation, 50 of which received financial assistance within the “Naan Mudhalvan” scheme. The scheme would continue to work with the same obligation to restore the legacy of candidates from the state that succeeded in large numbers in the civil service exam, he added.
