Kadettri, a scheduled caste settlement under the Nagercoil Corporation, faces several infrastructural challenges, including lack of clean drinking water, street lights and bus facilities.
Surrounded by paddy fields and coconut groves, the locality was reclassified under corporate limits after the merger of Thengaputhoor town panchayat with Nagercoil corporation as the area was earlier under the jurisdiction of Thengamputhoor town panchayat.
Residents of the locality say they have received no development measures since Kadetri’s merger with the corporation, apart from an increase in property and water taxes.
