
Chairman and CEO of Singareni Collieries Company Limited (SCCL) N. Balram emphasized the need to increase the efforts of the General SCCL managers to ensure compulsory permits, mainly forest permits, for new mines.
On Tuesday, Mr. Balram organized individual meetings with the General Managers of 12 areas of the company at the SCCL headquarters in Kothagudem in the district of Bhadradri Kothagud.
Key aspects related to the plans of expansion of the company, strategy for increasing coal production with the highest priority for labor safety and future plans have been extensively discussed during review meetings performed by SCCL CMD. The long interactive session lasted more than 10 hours and covered a thorough review of the current state of coal mines in all 12 regions of the company and future mining projects, SCCL sources said.
He explained that without new mines, the SCCL areas like Yellland, Manugura and Bellampalli in the coal belt will face an uncertain future. It is essential for GMS to play a proactive role to quickly gain the necessary authorities for new mines, GMS told during interactive sessions.
He emphasized the need to prevent underground mines and announced the establishment of a special committee to resolve losses in Shanthikhani and Adriyala Longwall. He emphasized the need for optimal use of heavy machines to increase productivity.
He also reviewed the status of coal production in the Zini Coal mine in Odisha.
He also proposed to explore the possibility of establishing coal linen in Sathupalli in the district of Khammam.
