SC canceled the bail granted to the former DHFL promoter Dheraj Wadhawan in the case of loan fraud and ordered him to give up in two weeks, PTI reported on Tuesday.
A bench composed of justice Sanjay Kumar and Satish Chandra Sharma issued an order after reviewing the report of the Medical Council and ordered Wadhawan to give up within two weeks.
9 September 2024 The Delhi High Court granted him a bail for medical reasons and said Wadhawan was “sick”.
The order was issued after the appeal of the filed CBI against the decision of the High Court.
The next general attorney of SV Raja, who represented the agency, previously said that Wadhawan had no serious health problems and that in the case of a large amount of money was postponed.
In July 2022, the Wadhawan, Chapel and Dheraj brothers were arrested in this case. The agency submitted the indictment in October 2022, then the court acknowledged the case.
The company was filed on the basis of a complaint from the Indian bank Union Bank of India and argued that DHFL, along with the then chairman of the manager of Wadhawan chapels, then director of Dheraj Wadhawan and other accused individuals, consisted of a consortium of 17 banks led by Union Bank of India. As part of this conspiracy, the accusations and others allegedly convinced the consortium to approve large loans in the total number £42 871.42 crore.
The CBI claimed that a significant part of the funds were reportedly postponed and disgraced by falsifying DHFL books and dishonest failure when repaying legitimate fees of consortious banks.
In June this year, the Supreme Court urged the High Court in Delhi to immediately decide to bail in the Wadhawan chapel in the case of multi -crrore fraud. He proceeded to the top court and was looking for the rapid liquidation of his petition and said his petition had been interrupted several times.
