Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes in Karnataka continue to suffer from land-related problems despite existing legislation, the study said.
Many applications filed under the Karnataka Village Authority Abolition Act remain pending, even as several kulwadike families have not been able to apply for Inam Village Service Abolition due to lack of awareness of the time window for filing such applications. The findings of a study conducted in Tumakuru, Raichur and Chikkamagaluru by the Alternative Law Forum in association with Samvidhana Samrakshana Vedike and Slum Janandolana Karnataka were released on Tuesday.
