On Thursday (April 3, 2025), the Supreme Court refused to release the ban on the production, storage and sale of flip flops in Delhi-NCR, which noted that the level of air pollution remained alarming for a considerable time.
Justices Abhay Ska and Ujjjj Bhuyan said that a large part of the population was working on the streets and was the worst affected by pollution.
Not everyone can afford the air cleaner in their stay or to work in the fight against pollution, the bench said.
“Several orders that this court has received in the last six months brings a record of a terrible situation with which it prevailed in Delhi due to a very high level of air pollution … The right to health is an essential part of Article 21 of the Constitution, so the right to live in the atmosphere without pollution,” the court said.
If the court was not convinced that the pollution caused by the “so -called” Green biscuits were bare minimal, there was no doubt about the re -evaluation of previous orders, he added.
The best court stated that orders from time to time indicated that the instructions and the ban on the use of flip flops were guaranteed by a “emergency situation” created in Delhi.
