On Monday (September 1, 2025), the Supreme Court confirmed the Government Government of Telangana, which allowed students who studied for the last four years until 12 grades in the state, for admission to medical and dental universities under the state quota.
The bench, including the chief judge BR Gavai and the judiciary K. Vinod Chandran allowed the appeal of the state government and confirmed the rules for adopting medical and dental schools TELANGANA (acceptance to MBBS and BDS courses), 2017, in 2024.
The attacked rules called only those students who studied for the last four years up to 12 grades in the state to gain admission to medical and dental universities under the state quota.
The High Court in Tellangana ruled that permanent residents of the state could not be denied the benefits of adopting at medical faculties just because they lived outside the state for some time.
The Supreme Court 5. August reserved its judgment on request, including one of the Theangan government, against an order that hit his residence for admission to the Faculty of Medicine in the State.
The state was represented by the head of advocate Abhishek Singhvi and lawyer Sravan Kumar Karnam.
A detailed judgment is expected.
