Andhra Pradesh State Commission for Scheduled Castes member Raavada Seetharam on Saturday (February 7, 2026) asked officials to ensure issuance of cultivation certificates to Scheduled Caste farmers who were given D patta lands long back. He received petitions from nearly 75 persons in Vizianagaram.
Most of the farmers said they do not have valid documents of D pattas as they were handed over to ancestors three to four decades ago. They said they were unable to get crop loans and other benefits without the certificates. Mr. Seetharam suggested the revenue department and panchayat officials to address the grievances of the SC farmers.
He later visited Cheepurupalli and Rajam where the local residents requested the Commission’s intervention for speedy construction of Ambedkar Bhavans. Cheepurupalli SC leaders complained that the land allotted for Ambedkar Bhavan was occupied by influential people from the constituency.
