
India (SBI) State Bank announced the planned maintenance, which will cause a brief disruption in the Unified Professional Interface (UPI).
SBI reported that its UPI services would not be available for 20 minutes from 1:00 to 1:20 in the morning 6 August 2025 for planned maintenance.
When will the disruption be resolved?
The official announcement of the bank on X (formerly Twitter) is: “Given the planned maintenance activities, SBI UPI services will be temporarily unavailable from 01:00 to 01:20 on 06.08.2025 (ist).”
The bank also added: “Customers can continue to use UPI Lite for continuous services. We regret the inconvenience caused by our customers.”
In the meantime, how to use UPI?
The Bank of the Public Sector advised customers to use UPI Lite for continuing digital transactions during downtime.
UPI Lite will remain fully functional, even if the main UPI channel is under maintenance, as the bank passes.

UPI Lite is designed for transactions with small values and acts as a wallet on a device for faster payments. It allows users to make payments without entering the PIN UPI, especially for low -value transactions and in areas with poor network connection.
