
State Bank of India Amaravati Circle on Sunday performed Bhoomi Pooja for the construction of its proposed local headquarters building at Amaravati, marking a major milestone in the bank’s long-term commitment to Andhra Pradesh.
SBI Chairman Challa Sreenivasulu Setty presided over the ceremony in the presence of CEO Rajesh Kumar Patel and other senior officials, the bank said.
The proposed local headquarters building is considered a landmark project that reflects SBI’s strategic vision and its continued support for the administrative and economic growth of the state. Mr. Setty said the new LHO will strengthen the bank’s institutional presence in Amaravati and reaffirm its close partnership with the government and local communities in promoting inclusive and sustainable development.
As part of the event, SBI Amaravati Circle also launched two major Corporate Social Responsibility initiatives to strengthen healthcare infrastructure in the region. Mr. Setty handed over a check of ₹4.12 crore through the SBI Foundation to the Government General Hospital, Guntur, for the purchase and installation of advanced medical equipment for the cardiology department of the hospital, the report added.
