India Women pacer Sayali Satghare has revealed how incredibly special the past few months have been for her. After being released by Gujarat Giants, Satghare remained unsold in the 2026 Women’s Premier League (WPL) auction. However, her luck changed when Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) signed her as a replacement for Ellyse Perry, who withdrew from the tournament due to personal reasons.

Satghare enjoyed a memorable campaign, helping RCB lift their second WPL title. She then made her Test debut in a pink ball match against Australia at the WACA in Perth alongside Pratika Rawal, Kranti Gaud and Kashvee Gautam. Looking back on the journey, Satghare said that while winning the WPL was a special moment, her Test debut in India was a dream come true.
“The last two-three months have been very special. I got my Test debut after (winning) the WPL and if you make your debut at a ground like the WACA, it’s a dream for any fast bowler. And to represent India in any format is a dream come true,” Satghare told ESPNcricinfo.
SATGHARE UNVEILS ITS SPECIAL GOAL
Satghare was India’s outstanding bowler although the visitors suffered a 10-wicket defeat. The right-arm pacer impressed with figures of 18.4-2-50-4 in the first innings and created plenty of movement with the pink ball. She later said her favorite wicket was Georgie Voll’s, who she beat with a sharp inswinger.
Satghare also felt she could have released Alyssa Healy sooner. In her second spell, she pinned the Australian skipper on the pads with a ball that came back in, but the Indian review showed it pitched outside the off-stump. But she ended up having the last laugh when Healy mishandled Jemimah Rodrigues, who struck for offside.
“If you ask (me which wicket was) more special, I think it was (Volla’s) dismissal. But I feel the lbw appeal against Healy was very close. If she was out it would have been even more special because it was her last game (and as it turned out) her last innings. She is a legend of the game,” added Satghare.
Satghare made her ODI debut against Ireland in Rajkot last year and has since taken three wickets in as many matches at an economy rate of 4.65. While she has already represented India in Tests and ODIs, the bowling all-rounder is yet to make her T20I debut.
