The Indian pairs of men, Satwiksairai Randireddy and Chirag Shetty, advanced to the quarterfinals of Hong Kong Open, but not without frightening. On Thursday, September 11, Duo of World No. 9 gathered from the game down to defeat Thailand Peeratchai Sukphun and Pakkapon Teraratsakul 18-21, 21-15, 21-11 per hour and three minutes.
The Thai couple, included in the world 42, shocked Indians by grabbing the opening game 21-18 with a sharp pure game and stubborn defense. However, the ruling Asian Gold Medalists quickly regrouted, tightened their attack and dictated the pace in the second game.
In the judges, Satwik’s storms and Chirag’s Lightning Reflexes in the network, Thais left without responses when the Indians attacked the dominant target.
Satwik and Chirag will now face Malaysian Junaidi Arif and Roy King Yap in the quarterfinals. The Malaysian duo books its place with a victory of 21-17, 21-19 over the Choong Hon Hon Jian and Muhammad Haikal in their round of 16 clashes.
Satwik and Chirag were forced to work hard in their open opening in Hong Kong. Fresh from their Bronze Medal at the World Championship 2024 in ParisThey fought around Taiwan Chiu Hsiang Chieh and Wang Chi-Lin 21-13, 18-21, 21-10 on Wednesday 10 September, at BWF Super 500.
The Indians started the commanding fashion, dominating the network on the net, and Satwik released its trademark breaking to sail the first game. Momentum, however, turned in the second, when Taiwan tightened his defense, joined the longer assembly and earned the unforced errors to force the referee.
In the third game Satwik and Chirag quickly regrouped. They renounced their shot, put tireless pressure and took over for clean exchanges. They built an early leadership and never looked at and closed the competition with authorization to advance despite the obstacle of the second game.
