Satish Jarkiholi, minister and KPCC working president, said he has no plans to visit New Delhi for political reasons yet.
“I will not go to Delhi right now, I will stay here. I will go to Delhi when necessary. We still go to Delhi for administrative purposes like meeting concerned ministers. Whenever we are in the state capital, we tend to meet the leaders of the party high command. They cannot be considered as political visits,” he said. He was talking to reporters at Hukkeri in Belagavi district on Monday.
“There has been no discussion about the possibility of a change in the leadership of the Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee in the party. No one has told me that I should take charge. But if that discussion comes, we will see,” he said.
When asked, Mr Jarkiholi said he had no idea about the meeting between AICC president Mallikarjun Kharge and KPCC president DK Shivakumar. “If it comes up during the discussion with the senior leaders, we will see,” he said.
He said he had no idea about the cabinet reshuffle or expansion. On a leader from Bihar announcing that Mr. DK Shivakumar will be the next Chief Minister of Karnataka, Mr. Jarkiholi said that it is very common for fans of some leaders to make such statements. “A fan of Mr. Shivakumar could have made such a statement,” he said.
