District Superintendent of Police Sri Sathya Sai S. Satish Kumar launched an awareness program titled “Amma, are you safe? Do you have any problems?” on Tuesday (May 26, 2026) in several residential colonies in Dharmavaram village. He interacted with women and residents to assess their security concerns, curb anti-social activities and build public confidence in the police.

The SP visited Thikkaswamy Colony, Shivanagar, Nesepet, Madhav Nagar, Dargah Circle, Loni Peta, Cheruvu Katta, LCK Puram and MG Colony to inquire about women safety, suspicious movements, youth problems, harassment complaints and riots caused by drunkards and anti-social elements.

The SP addressed the residents and urged them not to be afraid to approach the police in cases of domestic violence, teasing, threats or night harassment. Assuring an immediate police response, he said the department remains committed to protecting women and maintaining public order.

Several women informed SZ that the increased night watch made them feel safer and appreciated the staff’s quick response to complaints received through phone calls.

Mr. Satish Kumar appealed to the residents to install CCTV cameras in the colonies to enhance crime prevention and public safety. He warned that strict action would be taken against noisy elements and offenders who disturb the peace.

He said regular field visits would continue across the district to reassure women and girls, improve citizen-police coordination and get direct feedback on local law and order conditions in the late night and early morning hours.

Police officers from one and two city police stations in Dharmavaram participated in the outreach programme.
