The leader of the opposition VDSAHEEESEN called on Wednesday to limit the maximum number of voters at each election station to 1,100 voters regardless of whether they are in rural or urban areas. In a letter to the State Election Commissioner, he pointed to the impracticality of the proposal for the establishment of an election station for a maximum of 1,300 voters in the Panchayat area and 1600 voters in municipal areas in local elections in the local authority. He said that more people coming to the stalls would increase the workload of officials and lead to long queues outside the election cabins. This can also lead to many from voting, he said.
