The leader of the opposition VD Satheesan demanded that Shaija Andavan, who was recently appointed Dean of the Faculty at the National Institute of Technology Kalicut (NIT-C), resigned to her post. Against her, a police case was registered against her for allegedly praise Nathuram Gods, Assassina Mahatma Gandhi, in a post on social media.
Mr. Satheesen on Saturday (April 5, 2025) outside the campus Nit-C in Chathamangalam opened all-day MK Raghavan, MP Kozhikode.
Mr. Satheesen pointed out that Mrs. Andavan was to be released from service for her during her advancing to the killer of the Father of the Nation. However, the Union’s government, under which the NIT-C works, decided to honor it by giving it more duties. If it did not voluntarily participate or be removed by higher authorities, they would have serious consequences, he said. The Chairman of the District Congress Committee K. Poeenkumar and Indian Union Muslim League (IUML) MLA MUK Muneer were present.
Et Mohammed Basheer, MP, in the evening launched a valedictory event. Mr. Raghavan said there was no surprise in the appointment of Mrs. Andavan, because the ruling establishment in the country used every opportunity to undermine Gandhi and Jawaharlal nezru.
