
Seven persons, including five women from the interstate gang, accused of executing a series of theft from top Saree stores across Telangana, Andhra Pradesh and other South States, were arrested on Saturday by the police Madhapur.
The arrests were identified as Kanumuri Venkateswara Rao, 40, Katta Yeshoda, 50, alias Kampa Raman Ravanakka, 47, Devarakonda Subhashini, 39, Sadupati Thirupatamma, Sadupati Venkateswaamma, 42, 42, 42, 42, 42, 42, 42, 42, 42, 42.
All accused are the inhabitants of the Krishna district in Andhra Pradesh.
The police said six out of seven accused had a history of crime and previously worked in Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Karnataka and Tamil Nadu.

According to the complaint, while the owner was away from his personal work, her husband managed the shop. The couple entered the showroom under the pretext of buying a large number of sari. When he participated with them, they asked for water. When he walked in to load, three more individuals entered the store and involved him in an interview.
The couple took the opportunity and, together with the newcomers, left the premises quietly and stated that he would return as soon as the owner of the lady returned.
Later, after her return, the owner was suspected and checked the inventory just to find out that 14 expensive sari was missing.
Modus Operandi Gang included focus on Saree showroom with minimal staff, especially those in remote places. Women who entered as a potential buyer would ask for premium sari and amazed the sellers. They then hide sari under the garments and leave the shop for pretexts later, the police said.
After the arrest, the police issued advice to the owners of Saree top stores, especially those who work in isolated areas, deployment of employees in East, CCTV camera installation covering all customers’ activities, and vigilant, especially when large groups of women involve windows or show suspicious behavior.
