The Sankranti Mahotsavams at the Sri Mulastana Yellamma Thalli Temple in Chandragiri got off to a grand start on Saturday (January 17). The ‘Konda chuttu mahotsavam’ (pradakshina) at the temple was held in the evening in the presence of thousands of devotees.
Chandragiri MLA Puliparti Venkatamani Prasad (Nani) offered traditional silk clothes to the presiding deity named Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams. Along with his wife Sudha Reddy, the MLA took out a grand procession from Sri Kodanda Rama Swamy Temple in Tirupati to Chandragiri amid traditional drums and kolatam. The executive officer of the temple and priests greeted the MLA and his wife with a traditional welcome on their arrival at the temple. Nani said he prayed for the welfare of the people in his constituency.
