The criticism of Mr. Rauta came after the news came to light 2,289 government employees who are not eligible to enroll and take advantage of Ladki Bahin Yojana. When checking more than two LakH applications, it was found that 2,289 government employees benefit from this program, said the Minister of Women and Child ADITI Tatkare.

The government of the Mahayuti government launched Ladki Bahin Yojana in August 2024, before the elections of the Assembly in November of the same year. Within this system, the eligible women (with the exception of government employees) are entitled to a monthly contribution of 1,500 GBP.

Mr. Ajit Pawar said on Sunday that the detailed process of verification was not impossible due to lack of time when the elections of the Assembly approached, and explained that “no measures would be taken against government employees”.

“Who paid for this system? Who lossed the money of this state? These leaders allowed to exclude the money of that state. Who should atone for it?” Mr. Raut said and emphasized the need for stricter verification processes.
