Sanitation deficiencies were found in four Cyberabad restaurants during food safety inspections

Food safety teams from the Cyberabad Municipal Corporation (CMC) found hygiene violations during inspections at several restaurants in Hyderabad on Monday (July 6, 2026). Violations included unlabeled prepared food, stagnant water near drains, lack of hot water to sanitize dishes, inadequate storage of expired food and poor kitchen maintenance.
Itlu – Hygiene score of 82% at Veg Diner
At Itlo – A Veg Diner in the Financial District, an inspection revealed that there was no hot water to disinfect kitchen utensils. Water stagnation and food waste were observed near drains, while staff clothing was stored near the food preparation area. Food containers were not properly labeled. Prepared food items, including hara bhara kebab, beetroot tikka, onion rings, hello sauce and sweet corn, were found without labels and were discarded on the spot. Dust accumulation was observed on the ceiling of the warehouse. The team also identified the “Cleanest water on Earth” claim displayed on glass water bottles as potentially misleading and ordered the food business operator to stop using it. The facility achieved 82% in the hygiene rating.

Pista House Fine Dining hygiene score 90%
At Pista House Fine Dining in Preston Mall, Gachibowli, officials observed minor peeling at one location and instructed the management to take immediate remedial action. The restaurant did not have a separate dedicated storage area for expired food due to inadequate storage facilities and water testing reports were not available during the inspection. The facility achieved 90% in the hygiene rating.

Baked 24×7 hygiene score 95%
At Roast 24×7 in Telecom Nagar, Gachibowli, inspectors found one freezer door in need of maintenance and advised the restaurant to strengthen regular checks on cooking oil quality. The facility achieved a hygiene rating of 95%.

KFC Hygiene Score 96%
At the KFC outlet in Shilpakala Vedika, officials found that the drains near the kitchen needed better cleaning. The facility achieved a hygiene rating of 96%.
