
Keral Sanctionila 75 GBP Lakh for the organization of the seventh edition of the international challenge for mountain bikes (MTB Kerala 2025), which kept Kerala on the global map of bike competitions.
MTB Kerala, promoted by the state department of tourism, will be held on the tea plantation Priyadarshini in Mananthavady. Indian and foreign cycling stars will participate in the championship.
The amount was sanctioned for the championship, including travel expenses and accommodation of cyclists, winning money and other expenses.
The company for promoting Keral Adventure Tourism (KATPS) and the Wayanad (DTPC) tourism council organization organize the championship in cooperation with Union Cycliste Internationale (UCI) and the Indian cycling federation (CFI). The 5 km track, where the MTB Kerala competition takes place, is at an altitude of 3,000 ft. The main attraction of the championship is the section for running countries that cover terrains such as mud, rocks and water. It is expected to participate in cyclists from many foreign countries in the tournament.
Amateur competitions
In addition, amateur competitions for Indian cyclists will be organized. The winners of this race will compete with foreign players in the international competition MTB Kerala. MTB Kerala was also included in the Union Cycliste Internationale calendar, a world government body based in Switzerland for sports cycling.
The competition categories are the International Running XCO (Elite Men), the National Cross Country XCO (Elite Men), the National Cross Country XCO (Elite Women), the Cross Country XCO (Elite Men) and the Elite Country (elite women).
