At least five people, including teenagers, were injured in a weekend shooting outside a San Francisco supermarket, US authorities said.
The incident came to light around 9:00 p.m. (local time) Saturday when police responding to reports of a shooting found several victims near a road in the Outer Richmond neighborhood, the AP reported.
Four juveniles suffered life-threatening injuries, one man was seriously injured.
All five were taken to hospital.
Police Captain Kevin Lee talks about the incident he said The San Francisco Chronicle, which police suspected in the shooting, erupted from the struggle.
He added that the shooting appeared to be an isolated incident and the general public did not appear to be at risk.
San Francisco Mayor Daniel Lurie also responded to the shooting in his city, saying, “This kind of violence does not represent who we are as a city and we will never tolerate it.”
Meanwhile, the shooter is still at large: no arrests had been made as of Sunday.
Detectives investigating the case have appealed for witnesses and members of the public to come forward with any information that could help with the investigation.
Another day, another shooting
News of the San Francisco shooting comes on the day another shooting rocked San Antonio, Texas.
There, the incident took place in the countryside of a supply company, where a 21-year-old opened fire and killed three: two men and a woman.
While police responded immediately to the shooting, it took hours to locate the suspect.
When officers finally found the suspect, they found him dead with a self-inflicted gunshot wound.
The accused was identified as Jose Hernandez Galo.
While a motive for the shooting was unclear, police said it did not appear to be random.
The investigation is ongoing and further details are awaited.
