
Samsani Srinivasa Rao was unanimously re-elected as the state president of the Andhra Pradesh Central Government Vehicle Drivers Association for a second term on Sunday (March 22).
The elections were held at the State Office in Tadepalli in the presence of representatives of all 13 districts. The process was conducted under the supervision of election officer TV Phani Perraju, who is also the state president of AP Cooperative Services Association, while S. Malleswara Rao served as election observer.
Mr. Srinivasa Rao, who works as a driver in the endowment department in Kakinada district, was elected unanimously during a nomination process attended by the district president and members of the state executive.
At a function held after the elections, chief guest Boppuraju Venkateswarlu, AP JAC Amaravati president and AP Revenue Services Association president, lauded the unity of the drivers’ unions. He described the association as a “strong pillar” of AP JAC and appreciated the unanimous election of Srinivasa Rao.
Assuring continued support to drivers and government employees, Venkateswarlu said efforts would be made to resolve outstanding issues like 12th Pay Revision Commission (PRC), Interim Relief (IR) and Dearness Allowance (DA) pending. He said the government would be called upon to appoint a PRC and resolve long-standing financial demands by coordinating with various labor associations.
Mr. Phani Perraju thanked the leaders from all the districts for ensuring the smooth conduct of the elections and called for continued cooperation between the drivers association and AP JAC Amaravati. Several leaders including B. Kishore Kumar and V. Arlaiah attended the event.
