Ravi Shastri said India should consider choosing Sai Sudharsan for their upcoming test series against England. Shastri said that Sudharsan might come in handy because he is used to British conditions and played in several district periods for Surrey.
In 2023, Sudharsan scored 116 runs out of two matches on average 38.66. Last year, Southpaw gathered 165 runs from three games against Nottinghamshire in Trent Bridge in Nottingham.

“I see this young man, Sai Sudharsan, for all the formats of the game. It looks like a class player and my eyes would certainly be on him. Being a left -wing shame in England, knowing English conditions and only his technique as he plays, I think
Sudharsan was also in sensational form in Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 and accumulated 456 runs, from nine five -halves matches and the highest score of 82.
Shastri also said that Shreyas Iyer could do his test comeback on England Tour, but must break through the rigid competition.
“He (Shreyas Iyer) can (make a comeback), but again it will be a competition. The white ball, surely. The test cricket, we have to see who other players are,” Shastri added.
Like Sudharsan, Shreyas was also in an amazing touch and this season for The Panjab Kings (PBK) on average 51.42 scored 360 runs out of 10 matches.
The Indian test series against England begins on June 20 with the operator of the headingley series in Leeds. Edgbaston, Lord’s, Old Trafford and Kennington Oval will host four more games in a series of five games.
