Batsman great Sachin Tendulkar on Wednesday shared his insights on handling pressure and maintaining a winning mindset during an interaction with Team Mumbai ahead of their Ranji Trophy quarter-final against Karnataka.
The 42-time champions will take on the eight-time winners in the last eight of the Ranji Trophy at the MCA-BKC ground from February 6-10.
Tendulkar, the former Mumbai captain, fielded questions from players and members of the coaching staff during an extended interaction at the BKC facility, focusing on preparation, approach and handling of high-pressure situations in knockout cricket.
“We were lucky to be graced with Sachin’s presence in the dressing room today. Rather than just a pep talk, it was more of a question and answer session,” Mumbai captain Shardul Thakur he said in a statement. “The players and coaches asked different questions about preparation, winning mindset and handling pressure in tough situations.”
Thakur added Tendulkar’s leadership has consistently proved invaluable to the side in Mumbai and is a confidence booster ahead of the crucial encounter.
Mumbai got a timely boost earlier this week when Thakur and India opener Yashasvi Jaiswal returned to the line-up for the quarter-finals. Jaiswal’s inclusion marks his second appearance for Mumbai this season, after his appearance against Rajasthan in the opening round.
