Irregularities on Monday (October 6, 2025) rocked the irregularities of golden copper plaques at the entrance to the Sabarimala Ayyapp (UDF) temple.
The protests began, as soon as an hour of questions began, with the leader of the opposition VD Satheesen, who demanded the resignation of Minister Devaswom VN of Vasavan over the accusations of gold theft. UDF was elected to the well of the house and held banners and labels that demanded the minister’s resignation.
The Minister of Parliamentary Affairs MB Rajesh accused the opposition of “cowardice” in the assembly. He said the government is ready to discuss any problem, including Sabarimala. However, UDF disrupted the house within an hour without announcing the debate on the adjournment of the Sabarimal problem. He said that UDF “came ready” to use the floor of the house to lay “smoke aperture of lies” about Sabarimala.
Insincere to the house: speaker
The speaker Shamseer, who challenged the reasons for disruption, said that the opposition act of disturbing questions is disrespectful to the house.
Although he raised repeated requirements not to block his view with a banner, the opposition MLA did not get rid of. As soon as six minutes after the start of the lesson, the speaker announced that the house was temporarily adjourned.
Sloganeering from opposition benches continued, although the house reappeared at 10 o’clock at zero hour, which led the speaker to direct ministers to create answers to submission. The house was adjourned to the day before the accounts could be listed.
Satheesan Slams Govt, TDB
Later, when he spoke to Prespersons, Mr. Satheesan accused the government and Travancore Devaswom Board (TDB) of “calm” inconsistencies in golden plating, even though he knew her for years.
“If only the Sponsor Unnikrishnan Potti is responsible, why did they start any steps against him? Council even closed the same person about golden emergence, although she realized inconsistencies since 2019,” he said.
Regarding Mr. Rajesh’s accusation that the opposition was trying to create a smoke screen without announcing the adjoining proposal, the Satheesan Congress Mla Thiruvanchor Radhakrishnan, who was rejected on September 19, said.
“This is not the first time that the hour of questions has been disrupted. LDF did it six times when it was in opposition. We will strengthen our protests that increase the requirements for resignation of the Minister and President TDB and the Supreme Court probe that monitors the Central Investigation Office (CBI).”
