Suryakumar Yadav reacted to Mitchell Santner’s comments about silencing the home crowd in the final NEW DELHI: India captain Suryakumar Yadav on Saturday responded to Mitchell Santner’s comments about silencing the home crowd in the men’s T20 World Cup final in Ahmedabad, saying such remarks have become common before big matches.India will take on New Zealand at the Narendra Modi Stadium on Sunday.Earlier in the day, New Zealand captain Santner said his team would try to appease the home crowd during the final. His statement was similar to that made by Pat Cummins ahead of the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup 2023 final at the same venue where Australia defeated India.“The aim is to silence the crowd. There are many variables in T20 cricket and it is fickle at times,” the 34-year-old said. “If we go out about our business in the same way, we can upset another big team. There is obviously a lot of pressure (on India) to win the World Cup at home.”
