The Rythu Coolie Sangham of Andhra Pradesh will hold a public meeting on October 31, 2025 to highlight the hardships faced by indigenous people, farmers and farm workers who migrate in search of livelihood to other places due to absence of local opportunities, State Secretary Dantuluri Varma said on Thursday. The meeting will be held in the afternoon at the Srikakulam-Amadalavalasa junction bypass.
Addressing the media, he said that the state president of the association Simhadri Jhansi along with other leaders will pay tribute to the tribal leaders Korann and Mangann who sacrificed their lives on October 31, 1967 while fighting to protect the rights of the tribal people who were being exploited by the dominant sections, businessmen and influential people at that time.
Mr. Varma added that there has been no improvement in the life of the downtrodden sections in the last six decades despite a number of policies and schemes of the Union and State Governments. He emphasized that if the government would focus on irrigation projects and create local livelihood opportunities, farmers and natives would be able to lead a happy life.
