The State Secretary of Rythu Coolie Sangham Andhra Pradesh Dantuluri Varma claimed on Saturday that thousands of tribal people living in unplanned tribal areas face serious problems in securing land and other benefits of the government. The designation of Adivasi Day Association organized a massive gathering in Dugger in the Parvatipuram-Manyam district. Varma, who addressed the media, demanded that the unplanned tribal areas be declared planned areas and called for the Panchayats law (expanding to the planned areas) of 1996 (PESA) to protect the interests of the Lakh tribes in the district and through the state.
He claimed that the subsequent governments ignored the tribal well -being, apparent in the case of poor road connection and lack of drinking water equipment. He called on the government to build a bridge over the current of the Addar to provide trouble -free connection to 30 villages in Makkuva’s mandala.
The chairman of the district district of Vuyaka Mutual, Vice President Peedika Asiri and other leaders also demanded an exclusive DSC examination for tribal students who completed B.ED., as promised all political parties during the 2024 general elections.
