An-22 aircraft
The Russian-made Antonov An-22 heavy military aircraft was designed for the sole purpose of being a military transport vehicle that first took off in 1965.
According to Antonov’s official website, the An-22 aircraft has a special capability of high flight performance and the ability to operate from unpaved runways, which made it easier for the USSR to deliver large-sized cargo and equipment to remote areas of the country.
“A total of 66 aircraft were produced between 1965 and 1976. From 1980, Antei used the AN-124 Ruslan and the AN-225 Mriya to transport oversized components for construction,” according to the company’s website.
