After an earthquake of 7.0 sizes hit the nearby islands of Kuril, the Russian Ministry for Emergency Services on Sunday said the waves of Tsunami were possible in three areas of Kamchatka in the Far East.
“The expected wool heights are low, but you still have to give up from the coast,” the Ministry said in Telegram Messaging on Sunday.
However, the Pacific Tsunami warning system, which measured an earthquake of 7.0, said there was no warning in the tsunami after the earthquake. American geological survey also said that the earthquake was in size 7.
Volcano kraseninnikov in Kamchatka
Kraseninnikov volcano exploded overnight in Kamchatka for the first time in 600 years, reported the Russian state news agency and scientists on Sunday.
Both incidents could be associated with the huge earthquake, which was rocked by the Russian Far East last week, triggered by Tsunami warnings to French Polynesia and Chile, followed by eruptions Kryuchevskoyoyoy, the most active volcano on a peninsula Kamchatka.
The islands of Kuril stretch from the southern tip of the Kamchatka Peninsula. Russian scientists warned on Wednesday that in the next few weeks strong shocks are possible in the region.
“This is the first historically confirmed eruption of the Kraseninnikov volcano for 600 years,” said Ria Olga Girina, head of the team for reaction to the eruption of Kamchatka.
On the telegram channel of the Institute of volcanic and seismology, Girin said Kraseninnikov’s last lava discharge occurred within 40 years since 1463 and since then no eruption has been known.
The Kamchatka Branch of the Russian Ministry for Emergency Services said that after the eruption of the volcano, a cloud of ash was recorded to 6,000 meters (3.7 million). The volcano itself costs 1,856 meters.
“The cloud ash was carried east, towards the Pacific Ocean. There are no inhabited areas along its journey,” the ministry said on the telegram.
The eruption of the volcano was assigned an orange air code that indicates an increased risk for aircraft, the ministry said.
