According to Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov, Russian President Vladimir Putin is ready to visit India. TASS said that Russian Foreign Minister confirmed on Thursday that “the arrangement is currently being produced” to visit Putin Delhi.
In 2024, Prime Minister Narendra Modi met Putin twice. The first meeting took place in July during the 22nd India-Russian annual summit in Moscow. The second occurred from 22 to 23 October, when Modi took part in the 16th Brics Summit in Kazan and met Putin on the outskirts of the event.

Lavrov confirmed the development during the video address at the conference called “Russia and India: towards the new bilateral agenda” organized by the Russian Council for International Affairs (RIAC).
On Wednesday, Sergey Lavrov said Russia actively strengthens links with the main global powers, including India, with which Moscow shares “privileged strategic partnership”.
“We enjoy a particularly privileged strategic partnership with India,” Lavrov quoted as the Russian state media TASS.

Modi-Putin Meet: What is expected?
Lavrov repeated the obligation of Russia to deepen cooperation with its allies across various multilateral platforms, including the Community of Independent States (CIS), the organization of collective security (CSTO) and the Eurasian Economic Union.

The meeting is expected to focus on various critical issues, including trade, energy cooperation, defense agreements and the ongoing conflict of Russia-Ukraine.
