After several negotiations on what is allowed and what is not inside one of the largest lung premises of Bengalur, Cubbon Park, the state government recently issued an order with a specific list to and bears followed by the park. From the ceiling of the number of people who can gather at an action to ban food consumption and some toys, the instructions were covered by several aspects.
The order gives a green signal for events such as Walkathons/Marathons, public awareness programs, health camps established by recognized charity trusts and walking inside the park from 5:30 to 9:30 to 18:00 to 18:00
Regarding the hobby of the reader, writer or artist, the order determines that no more than 20 readers or writers can gather immediately. It also suggests that the area of 15 acres from the gazebo near the side entrance to the BSNL park, across the canal bridge to the parking area adjacent to the Supreme Court building, can be intended for visitors to enjoy non -commercial activities such as reading, yoga, meditation and other meetings. “If these ralves include more than 20 people, then the organizers should obtain permission from Deputy Director of Cubbon Park,” the order says.
Photos ok but no shooting or coils
In 2023, when the Gardening Department stated that the photograph was not involved in the park, it received a lot of resistance. It is now clear that visitors and tourists can use phones or cameras and take pictures, but are forbidden before/after wedding filming, children’s photo shoot, filming or reel filming or other commercial videos.
Enthusiasts of photographs who would like to make a photograph of nature, plants or wilderness inside the park can also obtain permission from the horticulture department and continue their shoots.
When permitting activities such as cycling and skating, the government stated that classes/training for the same cannot be held in the park. It also forbade playing inside the park with balloons, dragons and frisbees, which often represent the threat to the ecosystem. To disappoint visitors, the order repeats an earlier rule that prohibits the consumption of food inside the park to avoid garbage, which is for the time being a huge problem.
Implementation is key
While regular visitors argue that they support regulations, it is important that the Ministry of Horticulture take steps to implement them. The Ministry said that those who violate the instructions will be subjected to a fine of 500 ₹ 500 500 GBP and strict legal measures will be taken against repeated perpetrators.
“While choosing a punishment is on the one hand, the gardening department should first use more markings inside the park to create people’s awareness of designated areas and rules. They should also increase the number of security employees to ensure that the rules are not violated.
“The instructions should ensure that the operation of the lung premises does not prevent. We also expect similar instructions for Lalbagh in about two weeks,” said M. Jagadeesh, common director, parks and gardens, gardener department.
