The request of the Maharashtra Ecikaran Samiti (MES) Council for providing the Council’s documents and the management of the Council in Marathi led to heated arguments and a ruck at the monthly meeting of the municipal company in Belagavi.
The demand was required by Mes Ravi Salunke Member and was supported by members of the supported MES Shivaji Mandolkar and Viashali Bhatkande. However, this was strongly against and condemned other members, including members of the ruling party (BJP).
The nominated member of Ramesh Sontakki, who responded strongly to the demand, stressed that although Kannadigs are mostly in Akkalkot, Jath and Soapur, government documents are provided only in Marath and not in Cannada.
He called on the Council not to accept any resolution in favor of the introduction of documents in Marathi, and pointed out that members of the MES repeatedly evoke this problem.
The leader of the floor of Hanumanth Kongali demanded that the council management be done according to the program and none, including Ravi Salunke, should not be allowed to deviate from it.
Other BJP members, who received a strong exception to Mr. Salunke demand, demanded that Mr Salunke be disqualified for opposing the Karnataka state.
When the quarrel between the members of the ruling party and the members of the MES escalated, which led to cacophony, the mayor of Mangesh Pawar postponed the meeting for five minutes.
Meanwhile, Mla Abhay Patil said that the support of Congress on him is the reason for such behavior by Mr. Salunke.
After the renewal of the meeting, the BJP members demanded that the proceedings be carried out according to the agenda and rules and that no one should speak between or to create confusion by causing unjustified problems.
Mr. Mangesh Pawar decided that if the members violate the rules, he would be forced to act.
