Bharatiya Mazdor Sangh (BMS), Rashtriya Swayamsewak Sangh (RSS) working wing, and on Monday (August 25, 2025) demanded that the Central Government immediately conduct the Wage and Code of Social Security. BMS also urged the center to convene an Indian Labor Conference (ILC), the highest tripartite body of the Ministry of Labor and EU employment, first.
Requirements were made on the 159th meeting of the Central Executive Council of BMS, which took place in Bhopal from 22 to 24 August.
Hiranmay Pandy, President of BMS and the chairman of the meeting, said wages and social security codes are historical laws and best for ordinary workers.
These two codes are one of the four new working laws aimed at simplifying and consolidating existing laws aimed at expanding the benefits for workers in organized and unorganized sectors. The wage code focuses on ensuring minimum wages and timely payouts, while the social security code extends the coverage of benefits, including the Provisional Fund, Reward, Motherhood and Insurance for all types of workers, including concert and platform workers.
“That is why BMS continues to carry out immediate implementation. BMS is against many provisions that are against the interests of workers in the Industrial Relations Act, as well as a Code of Safety, Health and Working Conditions,” Mr. Pandya said.
The BMS asked the Indian government to gradually implement work laws and to take tripartite partners confidence, he said.
“ILC was last held in 2015. ILC is the highest tripartite body under the Ministry of Labor and one of the best contributions to Indian democracy. After 2015, the world of employment has undergone significant changes in different dimensions.
The Ministry of Labor should take the initiative and summon ILC as soon as possible, he said.
At its meeting of the Executive Board, the BMS also welcomed the decision of the Haryana government to regulate contractual workers under Kaushal Vikas Yojana. The organization also expressed its concerns about the facial recognition system established by the Ministry for Children and Children of the Union within the Integrated Child Development Services (ICDS).
“The facial recognition system represented many difficulties for Anganwadi staff at a national level due to several practical problems at the level of implementation. It has become another tool for annoying Anganwadi employees according to the district officials,” Mr. Pandya said. BMS demanded that the government to withdraw this support policy, he said.
