Sanskar Bharti, who is working on promoting Indian art forms, has expressed deep concern about the declining level of performance and content of stand-up and other comedy forms recently. The resolution was approved at its annual meeting of the leadership of the 11th April.
“Satiric stories about folk traditions such as Theri Kutta, Tamasha, Jatra, Swang Bhaand, Nautanki, etc. Or satirical style of contemporary literature, humor in all inspired the public to self-infection, dialogue and improvement.

“Platform for ridicule religious, national values”
He added that while this medium could be a tool for strong social reforms, in fact it is becoming a race for a “abbreviation to fame”.
“The stand-up comedy quickly becomes a platform for indecent language, religion, caste, gender numbness and contempt for national values. Under the intention of freedom of expression, many artists intentionally or unintentionally seek to gain popularity by ridicule religious symbols (involved) satirical criticism of national heroes.
