Rajasthan Royals batsman Vaibhav Sooryavanshi on Tuesday moved into second place on the all-time list for most runs scored in the powerplay during an IPL season during the RR IPL 2026 match against Lucknow Super Giants.Vaibhav scored 25 runs off 16 balls in the powerplay during Rajasthan Royals’ chase of 221. With this effort, he went past Travis Head to become the batsman with the second most overs in a single IPL season.Most powerplay (1-6 overs) runs in an IPL season:

Vaibhav Sooryavanshi was eventually dismissed for 93 off 38 balls.Earlier, Mitchell Marsh smashed 96 off 57 balls to help Lucknow Super Giants post 220 for five against Rajasthan Royals.Asked to bat first, Marsh added 109 runs in 50 balls with Josh Inglis making 60 off 29 balls to give LSG a strong start.Marsh and captain Rishabh Pant then added 64 runs off 42 balls for the third wicket.At the end of the 18th over, LSG crossed the 200-run mark as Pant and Marsh completed a 50-run partnership.During the final, Pant was run out for 35 off 23 balls, with two fours and two sixes.
