The railway protection force (RPF) confiscated a shipment of 25 kg of Ganja in Tata Nagar (Jharkhand) – Ernakulam Express Train at the Jolarpet station in Tirupattura on Tuesday. The police said the RPF police team performed surprising checks on the trains at the station under the security measures.
The express train, which was on the way to Chennai, stopped at the station. The team searched the express train coaches, where they found five abandoned hiking bags in the general train section. When they opened the bag, they found about 13 packages that contained 25 kg of Ganja. The initial investigation revealed that a gang of four people fell at the station after they noticed that the police team got on the train to search the coaches. They left the shipment on the train and fled from the place. The case was registered by Jolarpet RPF. The police also analyzed the CCTV shots on the gang, which was involved in Ganja smugglers. The probe is running.
