The Railway Protection Force (RPF) organized a live band concert at the railway station on Monday (January 19, 2026) to commemorate 150 years since ‘Vande Mataram’ was composed.
On the instructions of Inspector General with Principal Chief Security Commissioner (South Central Railway) Aroma Singh Thakur, the initiative was taken under the supervision of Divisional Security Commissioner (Guntakal) Akash Kumar Jaiswal and Assistant Security Commissioner (Renigunta) Rajagopal Reddy,
The band’s live concert started in front of the railway station at 6 pm and enthralled the passengers and the public with a patriotic rendition of six stanzas of ‘Vande Mataram’ and other national songs.
The performance created a vibrant and emotionally uplifting atmosphere, evoking a strong sense of nationalism, unity, pride and respect for the nation.
Tirupati Station Director K. Satyanarayana recalled the importance of “Vande Mataram” in uniting people with its patriotic message of devotion to the motherland, inspiring defiance against British rule, while RPF Inspector (Tirupati) M. Sandeep Kumar recalled how the song helped boost the morale of freedom fighters and students.
