The Telangana government and the Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology (RMIT) on Wednesday signed a letter of intent for a strategic partnership in strengthening life sciences education and research.
The signing ceremony was attended by IT, Electronics and Communications Minister D. Sridhar Babu and RMIT Deputy Vice-Chancellor Catherine Itsiopoulos, along with other government and university officials.
According to Mr. Sridhar Babu, the partnership with RMIT reflects Telangana’s long-term vision to invest in people and ideas. “As we work to establish the Telangana School of Life Sciences, such collaboration will help us nurture a highly skilled, research-oriented workforce that can drive innovation and shape India’s biotech future,” he said.
CEO of Telangana Life Sciences Foundation, Shakthi M. Nagappan noted that “the strategic alliance is the blueprint for tomorrow’s Genome Valley”.
