A team of police personnel at the Kalasipalya police station managed to nab a 25-year-old loud banger and two of his associates amid much drama at Krishnappa Garden on Wednesday.
Accused Shazad Pasha, against whom more than five criminal cases are pending, had jumped bail and was absconding. He was tracked down with two of his associates, Yaseen Shariff and Anas Pasha. The court issued a non-bailable warrant to the accused.
Acting on a tip-off, a team comprising Assistant Sub-Inspector Srinivasamurthy set out to secure his arrest and surrounded him. Police warned Shazad to surrender, but the trio reportedly resisted and tried to flee.
In an attempt to escape, Anas allegedly pulled out a machete and struck himself, shouting at Shazad and Yaseen to run while attacking the police party.
The police team overpowered Anas and chased and apprehended Shabaz and Yaseen. They were taken to the Tilak Nagar police station and a case under the Arms Act was registered against the trio.
