3 Reasons that led to Bengalur Stampede
Confusion over victory, free pass, overflow and limited seat at the Chinnaswama stadium is said to be some of the main reasons that led to Stampede, which left at least 11 people dead.
Police sources said the PTI that the initial chaos later turned into a strike, because several cricket enthusiasts who did not have the entrance tickets for the stadium tried to relax to the premises along with those who had valid tickets.
The Bengalur Traffic Police announced on Wednesday 11:56 that the stadium will not host the winning show, but only a felicitation function.
However, the RCB team management said at 15:14 that they organized a victory show at 5 pm and offered free entry cards.
The police said that even though they showed that there would be no victory show and that only those with tickets could enter the stadium, the fans gathered outside the stadium in large numbers, and many of them also jumped to the gates to get entry.
“While those who have valid tickets were allowed to enter the celebration stadium, many tried to push those who had free passages and tickets. In this offer, some also started pushing each other,” the policeman said.
