The central team was carried out by the Inspectorate in Sannidhanam, Marakkoott and Pampa Hilltop on Friday and Saturday in connection with the proposed Sabarimala Ropeway project.
The survey dealt with places for the installation of the tower, forest areas along the route and trees scheduled for complete or partial felling. The final approval of the project will be awarded on the basis of a report submitted by the team. Official sources said the team would probably submit their report on October 15.
The inspection team included Johnson of the Indian Institute of Wilderness (Delhi), Shivkumar from the Ministry of the Environment, a change in forest and climate and Harini Venugopal from the National Tiger Protection Authority. Officials from the Department of Keral and the Devaswom Council also participated.
