Ronald Koeman’s Dutch answer critics in style with five-star Sweden selection
Ronald Koeman’s Netherlands produced a five-star display to beat Sweden 5-1 to move top of Group F at the FIFA World Cup on Saturday.
Brian Brobbey justified his selection ahead of Memphis Depay with two goals in the opening 17 minutes to put the Dutch firmly in control. Cody Gakpo struck twice in seven minutes after the break to seal all the games.
Substitute Anthony Elanga briefly gave Sweden hope in the 59th minute, but the Dutch remained dominant.
Crysencio Summerville capped a great night with a fine solo goal in stoppage time as the Netherlands claimed their first win of the tournament in emphatic fashion.
