Coach Mahela JayaWardene said that the team wants Rohit Sharma to continue his approach with a high intention after the opener shouted back into the form during the victory over CSK. Rohit played intelligent shifts to help Mumbaii to ensure a 9-ranking victory over Chennai in IPL El Clasico on Sunday, April 20 after a bad form run during the season.
Rohit scored 76 out of 45 balls when he took on the pitch With his aggressive approach that the Indian Opener has used in cricket white ball in the last few years. JayaWardene said at a press conference after the match that Rohit understands a high pace, but at the same time he knows he reads the situation well.
The coach pointed out how the opener realized that R Ashwin was not accepting when he came and made the right decision. JayaWardene said Mumbai wants Rohit to take control of the games because he has doughs to play around him.
“Yeah, he played with this pace for a while. He understands it. Also,” JayaWardene said.
“Rohit can change the momentum of the game alone”
When Jayawarden asked about a chat he had with Rohit about his form, he said the legend was preparing me differently and did not need much motivation. JayaWardene said that once Rohit goes, he can change the momentum of the game himself.
“Rohit makes a bat in nets, but he is preparing differently. He got good balls several times and tried something that was not going. For a guy with his experience, you don’t have to say much. Just keep the communication positive, talk about matches and trust it’s just timing.”
