Rohit Sharma wears ‘tentative’ shirt, fans link to Ajit Agarkar’s remark
Rohit Sharma is all set to start a new innings in the form of his television show which will hit the screens soon. Rohit and Sony Sports Network were to promote the game show Family Full House on social media but a recent video has gone viral.
The clip shows Rohit in his relaxed avatar talking about how the producers kept pestering him with re-shoots. The former Indian captain went on to deliver the tune to the fans before calling it a day and ordering a package. But it was the T-shirt he was wearing in the video that caught the attention of fans.
Rohit’s t-shirt that says “tentative?” and it caused a stir online.
Many believed it was a dig at the BCCI and chief selector Ajit Agarkar’s comments about Rohit and Virat Kohli and their future heading into the 2027 World Cup.
WHAT A COMMENT WAS AGARKAR ON RO-KO
Ahead of the Australian tour last year, Agarkar had said that both Rohit and Kohli were non-committal about the World Cup. This is when Rohit was removed as the captain of the ODI side and was replaced by Shubman Gill.
“Both Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli are non-committal about the 2027 World Cup,” Agarkar said.
Ever since the comment was made, Rohit and Kohli have remained committed to making it to the 2027 World Cup and have even returned to domestic cricket.
Rohit has scored 379 runs in nine matches this year, including a hundred against England during the tour. It was also the time when Rohit’s future was questioned, with reports saying that he would retire after the Lord’s ODI.
Since then both the BCCI and Rohit have strictly dismissed the reports as baseless. Rohit also remains cautious about his participation in the ODI World Cup next year.
“October 2027 is a long way off, we’ll see then,” Rohit said at the Global Fintech Fest when an audience member asked if he would play in the next ODI World Cup.
Rohit is expected to be in action during the ODIs in the West Indies next month.
