Former Indian coach Ravi Shastri stressed that the future of Odi Virt Kohli and Rohit Sharma remains uncertain. They believe that the upcoming series of three matches against Australia will be decisive in determining whether both veterans continue towards the World Championship in South Africa 2027.
When launching the Kricet Sport in Sydney Shastri, Kricet Sport said that the series against Australia would act as a scale for both players.
“That’s why they are here (they play a series of ODI against Australia). They are part of the mix. It depends on their condition, their hunger and, of course, on form. So I think this series is very important to see how they go,” he said.
Shastri also compared his situation with the departure of ODI Steve Smith and stressed that the final decision lies on the players themselves.
“They (Rohit and Kohli) will know how they feel, and then it’s their call.
